HEINEKEN Asia Pacific publishes Sustainability Report 2013

HEINEKEN Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (‘HEINEKEN Asia Pacific’) published on October 9 their third formal Sustainability Report, marking a new chapter of their sustainability journey since becoming the regional hub for Heineken N.V. (HEINEKEN) in 2013. It builds on Brewing a Better Future, HEINEKEN’s sustainability strategy.

This year’s report covers the positive results made by HEINEKEN Asia Pacific towards achieving their global sustainability targets for 2015 and also towards their ambitious global 2020 commitments.

Roland Pirmez, President Asia Pacific said, “Sustainability is a key priority for our business. We recognise that to continue being successful, we must ensure that we operate responsibly and contribute positively to our communities. In our first year of implementing Brewing a Better Future as well as embedding and integrating sustainability into our daily operations in Asia Pacific, we have made steady progress against our targets.”

“We will continue to engage in stakeholder dialogue, enhancing our regional governance and inspiring our operating companies and employees on sustainable development. With this, I am confident that we can create shared value for all stakeholders and contribute to inclusive growth in this exciting region, particularly in developing economies,” he added.

Further underscoring the Company’s long-term approach and commitment towards sustainability, HEINEKEN Asia Pacific was awarded the ‘Best Sustainability Report’ at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Singapore Awards last year.

This report is aligned with the Global Reporting Initiative 3.1, achieving an application level B. HEINEKEN Asia Pacific’s full 2013 Sustainability Report can be accessed and downloaded online at http://www.HEINEKENAsiaPacific.com/SustainabilityReport2013.
