Philip graduated from the University of Sussex in 2008 with a BA in Psychology. He then went on to work in a number of professional and applied settings, including in special education, and as a research intern in the civil service (Department for Work and Pensions). Philip was awarded with a PhD in Psychology from the University of Sheffield in 2014. He was then employed as a Research Associate on the EPSRC-funded project “Creating and Exploring Digital Empathy” (CEDE) at the Institute for Economic Analysis of Decision-making (InstEAD) between December 2013 and March 2016, and is now an InstEAD Research Fellow.
Philip is currently Research Fellow on “InsEAD-EX: A mobile experimental economics portal (the ‘lab-in-a-bag’)”, which seeks to develop the Department’s capacity for experimental methods and multidisciplinary collaboration. He has a background in mental health research and specialises in behavioural economics. Philip has broader research interests in the experience of emotion and its effects on decision-making, psychological functioning and wellbeing.
