Welcome to the 9th International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM).
The biggest flagship event organised annually by the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment & Climate Change (MESTECC) to create a platform for solution providers and green energy businesses to tap into the fast expanding ASEAN market by showcasing the latest innovations to policy makers, government organisations, investors and the mass market.
Following its initiation in 2010 by the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA), IGEM has since established itself as South East Asia’s largest trade event for green technologies and eco solutions by successfully generating an estimated RM 12.5 billion in business leads, boasting an attendance of over 350,000 visitors including delegates, dignitaries and companies from over 50 countries.
On it’s 9th series, IGEM this year sees a promising future; by being the first IGEM happening after the country’s historical change in government under the newly restructured Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment & Climate Change (MESTECC). The consistent production of this event is evident that the agenda for a sustainable and green Malaysia is constantly in the attention of Malaysia’s policy makers and solution providers.
Minister of MESTECC, YB Yeo Bee Yin announced in her first Town Hall that “the new government will concentrate on Renewable Energy because we want to create affordable, sustainable, reliable, secured and long-term energy sources for our country. MESTECC is focused on developing the industry in both rural and urban Malaysia for a brighter and greener future.”
IGEM 2018 Green Economy & Industry 4.0 explores the integration modes between green economy solutions and its application to the current automation trend which includes; the Internet of Things (IoT), cyber security, system integration, Big Data, autonomous robots and more, with the aim of achieving sustainable development goals for various global industries.
The major players attending this year’s event are Jinko Solar, JA Solar, Ditrolic Solar, LONGI Solar, British High Commission of Kuala Lumpur, Hanwha Q CELLS, and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). The must-visit pavilions this year will feature the Malaysian State Governments alongside their International counterparts from the European Union, Republic of South Korea, China, Japan and Taiwan.
