Asian Development Bank pledges to lend Vietnam $1 billion for water projects

The Asian Development Bank has pledged to lend Vietnam $1 billion from 2011 to 2020 to develop the country’s water supply system, the government said Tuesday.

In 2011, the ADB will lend the country $250 million for a program to reduce water loss and wastefulness, the government said in a statement.

The government said it aims to reduce the rate of clean water loss to 15% by 2025 from 30% in 2009.
