Bandar Tasik Selatan transport terminal to open by year end

The new Integrated Transport Terminal (ITT) at Bandar Tasik Selatan has been completed ahead of schedule and will officially open by the end of the year.

Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) chairman Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar visited the RM570mil terminal on September 29.

The terminal’s operation management system will use advanced electronics that will feature the use of single ticketing system, which prevents touts and illegal ticket sellers.

Syed Hamid said the new ITT was built in response to the public complaints on the connectivity between public transport systems.

The terminal will link up the light rail transit (LRT), express rail link (ERL) and KTM Komuter lines.

The terminal is an initiative under the Government Transfor-mation Programme (GTP)’s urban public transport (UPT) National Key Results Area (NKRA) to improve the public transport system in the Klang Valley.

The Bandar Tasik Selatan ITT has the capacity to handle 40,000 passengers and 1,000 buses per day.

Up to 110 buses can be accommodated per hour.

Departure and arrival bays are located on the second floor of the six-storey complex.

The lobby for passengers will be on the concourse level while taxi stands will be on the third floor.

A dedicated commercial area will be on the fourth floor while parking bays are located on the fifth and sixth floors.
