Cash-free recycling lifeline for Thailand’s poorest

A cash-free scheme where recyclable waste scavenged from bins can be exchanged at a shop for food and other essentials has been introduced in Bangkok.

It has proved to be a lifeline for some of the poorest people in the city, while at the same time helping to raise awareness of the importance of recycling.
