A proposed $150 million solar farm in the Central West is expected to have a limited impact on the local environment.
Infigen Energy wants to install up to 500,000 panels on 120 hectares east of Manildra.
The final Environment Assessment has been released, which identifies biodiversity, noise, visual amenity and aboriginal heritage as the key areas of concern.
The results show the development is unlikely to adversely affect flora, fauna and local water supplies and it will have a moderate visual impact.
Noise levels may be exceeded during construction, but will be low once it is in operation.
The EA also concludes the development will play a valuable role in securing local electricity supplies and combating climate change.
The company says it will be able to generate enough power for 10,000 homes and it is the equivalent of taking 15,000 cars off Australia’s roads each year.
It also says while electromagnetic and electric fields will be produced, they will comply with guidelines and no public access will be allowed.
The development application is on public exhibition until December the 13th.
