EU tariffs on Chinese solar goods could cost 3.5 billion pounds

Imposing additional trade duties on Chinese solar products could cost the UK economy up to £3.5bn and 38,600 jobs, a new industry-backed report has warned.

The country would be the hardest hit if the EU goes ahead with threatened anti-dumping or countervailing levies designed to block cheap imported solar panels from China, according to a paper published by a group of 160 companies called the Alliance for Affordable Solar Energy (AFASE).
