Indian wind industry bat for return of key incentive

A generation-based incentive for the wind energy industry was not reinstated by the Indian government, dampening hopes of industry players. Energy Minister Farooq Abdullah did not announce the reinstatement of the incentive in his speech at the Wind Power 2012 conference in Chennai, and only reassured delegates that he would work hard to help the industry. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy had recommended that the incentive be continued following its withdrawal in April but the cabinet has yet to act on it.
