Abillionveg, a Singapore-headquartered social impact firm that provides vegan food, sustainable beauty and ethical fashion reviews, has hired Linda Jazzar as product manager.

She joins a team of about 20 staff, and will help unify the company’s efforts across product, growth and marketing.

Her appointment comes in the same month that abillionveg raised US$3 million in funding to invest in product development and recruitment.

Launched in 2017, abillionveg helps its members find and share insights about plant-based menu items, cruelty-free consumer products, and packaged foods. Users earn credits when they post reviews, which convert into donations for animal welfare charities.

The social impact firm counts Singapore-based Calibre Ventures, New York-based 1/0 Capital, and Zurich-based Blue Horizon Group among its investors. Since launching, the app is available in more than 120 countries.

Jazzar was previously a product manager for recipe app Cookpad, working on features such as homecooking delivery, a diet app, and a farm-to-fork service. She also co-founded KautionsRetter.de, an online platform that helps tenants get their security deposit back.

“Our mission is to build the definitive online platform for sustainability, making it much easier for people around the world to live in harmony with the environment,” the company’s founder and CEO Vikas Garg told Eco-Business.

“Linda’s past experience working for user-generated content platforms and marketplaces fits in really well with many aspects of abillionveg,” he said.
