Bangkok’s transport department is preparing a bidding process for multiple mass rapid transit lines and high-speed rail lines for the nation’s capital. The current Bang Sue station will became a major transport hub called the Phahon Yothin Transport Complex. The government will invest 762 billion baht to complete 10 lines with a total of 464 kilometres by 2019. A government official said he expected progress on the new lines to be faster than previous public transport construction because people understand the benefits better than before.
