Metito has announced it is to carry out two projects in conjunction with Bechtel International in Australia, a statement from the company has revealed.
Both projects are on Curtis Island, near Gladstone in Queensland, Australia, where Bechtel is constructing three separate LNG plants, which liquefy coal seam gas ready for export.
Metito’s scope of work includes design, fabrication and supervision of initial equipment installation supplied by Metito which will include seawater reverse osmosis desalination plants and sewage treatment plants to be used for the construction sites.
Discussing the projects, Tarek Ghandour, international business development manager, said, “These developments show a continuing effort from Metito to utilise its technical expertise and equipment to provide high-quality service to our clients around the globe.

The specification for these projects requires these plants to meet challenging feed-water quality and very strict discharge limits, according to the statement.
In order to meet the needs for the construction schedule, construction water and sewage treatment plants have been fast-tracked.
