A green exhibition stall featuring energy-saving equipment, green construction materials and a smart monitoring system was unveiled in Taipei City by the ROC Ministry of Economic Affairs July 30 as part of its Green Trade Promotion Project.
“The stand, which is energy-saving, practical and safe, shows that Taiwan’s building industry has become a global benchmark for green technology,” MOEA Deputy Minister Cho Shih-chao said. The locally or internationally certified green products used in the stall and made by 25 local manufacturers include non-toxic, recyclable and renewable furniture, antibacterially-treated wooden floorboards and a smart security system.
According to Cho, inspiration for the house came from participation in green exhibitions overseas. “Taiwan manufacturers at trade shows abroad were burdened by rental and furnishing of exhibition stands. A stand that can be reused, is easy to assemble and allows firms to showcase their products would help manufacturers save money and further enhance Taiwan’s green image and reputation on the international stage.”
The wooden floorboards produced by Ua Wood Floors Inc. in southern Taiwan’s Yunlin County are the only ones in the nation to be certified by Germany-based Forest Stewardship Council, marketing director Vicky Hsiang said.
The stall made its debut at the 2013 UrbanTec China Conference in Beijing in May, and will be showcased at the Taiwan International Green Industry Show and Taiwan International Smart Green City Expo in October and the Eco-Products fair in Japan in December, Cho said.
