Mongolia fast-tracks renewable energy plans

Mongolia, keen on developing its vast renewable energy sources, has said it would scale up its renewable target from the current 20 per cent of its total energy consumption by 2020 to 25 per cent. Mongolian president Tsakhia Elbegdorj, speaking at the Northeast Asia Renewable Energy Resources Cooperation Forum, said the country has rich solar and wind energy resources in excess of local demand that they are also might export these renewable energy products in the future.
