Western politicians are out of sync with the World Health Organization and the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization when it comes to food security, says Professor Tim Lang at London’s City University. He told audience members at a European Commission conference that the politicians lacked the courage to tell their constituents that the primary problem was western over-consumption and the resulting distortions to food distribution.
