RM220mil to upgrade water supply in Felda schemes

Felda has allocated more than RM220mil to upgrade water supply in all its land development schemes throughout the country this year.

Its chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad said the upgrading efforts were to enable settlers in all Felda land schemes to receive clean and quality piped water supply.

He said the majority of the water pipes in the Felda land schemes, particularly in the state of Pahang, were more than 25 years old and needed to be changed because some of them were already rusty and broken.

“With the allocation, it is hoped that the Water Supply Departments in all the states can replace the old pipes to improve the water supply capacity,” he said at a function in conjunction with the visit of the Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah to the Felda Purun, here Wednesday.

Also accompanying the Sultan were Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, Bera MP Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and state exco members.
