Taiwanese solar wafer manufacturer Sino-American Silicon Products registered big gains in the bourse after it announced that it is hiring additional workers to accommodate growing orders for its products. Its stock jumped 6.9 per cent to NT$ 31.70 at the Taipei trading. Sino-American is optimistic that the demand for solar energy equipment will bounce back in 2013. Analysts said the EU’s investigation of anti-dumping charges against Chinese manufacturers may have channeled orders to Taiwan manufacturers.
