Taiwan offers expertise for climate adaptation, mitigation

Taiwan is prepared to share its technical expertise in renewable energy and disaster prevention to help poorer nations cope with climate change. This was the statement of Taiwan’s Environmental Protection Administration Deputy Minister Yeh Shin-cheng at a Taiwan-sponsored forum at the sidelines of the UN climate talks in Doha, Qatar. Nick Dunlop, secretary-general of the Climate Parliament, said that Taiwan has the potential to be a key player in developing power grids in Asia which could contribute significant reductions in carbon emissions.
