UN climate talks streamline to focus on one track

Climate envoys at the UN conference in Doha want to simplify the negotiation process to pave the way for a climate agreement by 2015. The climate negotiators are planning to concentrate on one track instead of working on the two parallel strands of talks. This will be the biggest change in the process of the UN climate talks since 2007. Delegates from 190 countries have so far been concentrating on laying the groundwork in preparation for a climate deal to curb emissions that would take effect by 2020. Negotiators said the landmark shift will allow them to use what has been negotiated over the past five years to start achieving results on the ground.
