US pours $6 billion in Asia Pacific to drive cleantech investments

The US has allocated $6 billion to support its sustainability partnership with Asia Pacific. A $5 billion credit financing will be available to eligible countries in the region through a programme under the US Ex-Im Bank over the next four years. The Overseas Private Investment Corp. (OPIC) will be providing the $1 billion balance to fund power and energy infrastructure projects. The financing programmes are hoped to open access to American technology, services and equipment for sustainable energy projects. The US-Asia Pacific partnership will focus on improving investments on renewables, cleaner energy, markets and interconnectivity.
