Vietnam learns Sweden’s experience to become green

A workshop themed “Sweden-Vietnam partnership in sustainability” was held in the central city of Da Nang on June 6.

At the event, co-organised by the Da Nang People’s Committee and the Embassy of Sweden in Vietnam , experts from Sweden ’s Boras University introduced measures to turn waste into energy and sustainable development solutions for environmental and waste management problems.

Three years ago, the Da Nang People’s Committee launched a project “Building Da Nang - an environmental city” with a target of developing Da Nang into an environmentally friendly city by 2020.

The project represented the municipal authorities and people’s strong commitment to addressing environmental pollution, building green spaces as well as boosting clean production and energy saving.

Da Nang was the first leg of the “Go Green” Mission 2011 hosted by the Embassy of Sweden.

Sweden is one of the world’s leading countries in pollution treatment technology, turning waste into power.
