The 2014 Beijing International Building Technology conference drew to a close on 16 April with positive acclaim from both attendees and supporting organisations. Regarded as a major platform for building energy efficiency technology in China, the conference successfully gathered prominent industry associations, energy-saving and lighting technology providers as well as architects to share information on the latest trends and most pressing issues facing the region.
The 3rd annual China Green Building and Energy Conservation Technology Forum was the main event of the fair and attracted more than 150 attendees. Four specialised conference sessions, well-received by an engaging audience, focused on the conservation of historic buildings, green building and energy-saving technology development, avant-garde lighting technology as well as the application of smart lighting.
Event placed a spotlight on the potential of building energy efficiency in China, and achieved excellent feedback
The event achieved an overwhelmingly positive response from supporting organisations and attendees. Sharing his views on the trends of smart lighting and lighting technology innovations was Mr Chen Yansheng, Senior Engineer and Vice President & Secretary General of China Association of Lighting Industry.
He summarised: “LEDs are an important technology in the green lighting business, and will be widely embraced by China’s building industry. Meanwhile, the country’s smart lighting market will also experience fast growth in the near future. The platform was good for interaction and idea exchange among building and lighting professionals. I believe the conference was valuable to the industry.”
Mr Zhongming Shu, ECS & VDI Product Manager of Schneider Electric (China) Co Ltd Shanghai Branch, and a guest speaker of the conference also commented: “This was an important event for the industry. We could get in touch with professional attendees and have in-depth conversations on timely topics such as green building standards, technologies and trends. I think green building and energy-saving technologies will be prime concerns for China’s urbanisation goals. This conference is an effective platform for exchanging views and enhancing the industry.”
Mr Gao Jian, Vice President of Beijing Construction Decoration Association attended the forum. He shared: “It’s my third time being here. I think the event is getting better each year. The topics were well-chosen and examined market trends. For example, green and sustainable building design is getting more attention. And the forum helps professionals capitalise on opportunities. I will definitely participate next time.”
Fellow seminar attendee, Mr Feng Bin from Beijing Fini Co Ltd shared similar admiration. He said: “My company specialises in residential design and decoration. I found the forum very inspiring and useful. I was provided with the chance to listen to experts and learned from their experiences.
