The Bombay Nonferrous Metals Association (BNMA) selected Lucky Group as their destination facility for its delegation tour to the UAE. The key objective of the association’s visit to the facility was to generate trade opportunities between the UAE and Mumbai scrap markets. Furthermore, they aimed to showcase Lucky Group as a reliable well-established supplier for the supply of good quality nonferrous scrap into the Indian market; to establish trust between Lucky Group and Indian importers; to introduce the world of international trade to new entrants into the market in India; and to promote BNMA as a reliable organisation for the development of cross-regional trade and industry.
The BNMA delegation consisted of more than 50 members, representing a cross section of India’s nonferrous metals recycling industry. These delegates are leaders in their respective sub-fields within the industry, including manufacturers, smelters, processors, associations, traders and indenters. The association had nominated Lucky Group’s mother recycling facility in Jebel Ali as their foremost feature for its trip.
In his welcome address, Lucky Group Executive Director Raza Shaban warmly welcomed the delegates. This was followed by a presentation on the journey of the family business by Lucky Group Director Riz Shaban, starting with its roots in the 1940s in Gujarat, India, until the present day with its Global Headquarters in Dubai, UAE. The speaker’s program was concluded with a speech from the BNMA President B.M. Jain, who gave an introduction of the association and thanked Lucky Group for organising the visit.
“This visit will kick-start a successful and long-term relationship between BNMA and Lucky Group, collaboration and exchange of information,” said Riz Shaban, Lucky Group Director.
The delegates were given an exclusive tour of the recycling facility by Riz Shaban and Senior Manager Salman Shaban. The delegates took great interest in Lucky Group’s recycling SOPs, QC methodology and finished goods.
The event concluded with a photo session, a delicious luncheon and a gift-giving ceremony to honour all attendees.
BNMA bestowed on Lucky Group a token of appreciation the following day at the Royal Ascot Hotel at a half-day conference organised by Bureau of Middle East Recycling (BMR) and BNMA.
