Dr Martin Blake to chair Environasia2011 conference

The GreenAsia Group announced today that Executive Director, Dr Martin Blake, will chair The Sustainable Development through Energy Management Conference which will be held in conjunction with EnviroAsia 2011 on Thursday, 24 November.

Dr Blake, a world leading expert in sustainability, CSR and carbon management programs, will also deliver a presentation at the one-day conference which will highlight how integral sustainability is to strategic business planning and long-term viability. A diverse range of case studies will be used to illustrate the practical ways in which companies can reduce costs and manage energy use, which reinforce sustainability.

“It is my great pleasure to participate as Chair of the EnviroAsia2011 Conference,” mentioned Dr Blake, who has recently delivered presentations on energy reduction and sustainability to Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW), the Certified Practising Accountants Australia and the Asia Pacific Sustainability Leadership Forum in Singapore. “It’s encouraging to see these important topics being addressed more widely in the business community.”

The Sustainable Development through Energy Management Conference will bring together leading environmental technology and solution providers from throughout the world, to address options for improved resource efficiency in the light of Asia’s relentless urban growth. Both the conference and the exhibition will highlight the latest solutions to solid waste disposal, air pollution, water contamination, power generation and energy use.

“Dr Blake’s extensive background as a carbon management and CSR expert, serving companies such as Royal Mail and Saudi Aramco, has placed him as the most obvious choice for the role of chairperson of our conference. We look forward to have him share his expert insights and steer the discussion on the value of sustainable development and its vital role to the future of companies in the process industry,” said Ms. Lindy Wee, Director of PR and Conferences, Singapore Exhibition Services (SES).

Regularly sought by both the academic and business world for his insight and expertise, Dr Blake’s status as a leader in his field was acknowledged in August 2011 by his inclusion in the inaugural ABC Carbon Express 100 Global Sustain Ability Leaders list.
