EarthCheck continues growth in Europe

EarthCheck - the world’s leading benchmarking and certification program for the travel and tourism industry - today announced the opening of an office in Geneva, Switzerland. The Geneva opening comes on the back of phenomenal company growth in Europe, driven by the financial benefits that the EarthCheck program can help deliver.

EarthCheck already has more than 1,300 clients in over 70 countries and recently extended its global agreement with Design Hotels™ so that all their members worldwide will have access to its market leading software and business benchmarking services.

The Geneva office will be headed by Patrick Renouard, who comes with nearly a decade of international marketing and business development experience in Europe and Asia Pacific. He will be responsible for helping EarthCheck further extend its reach into Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East and Africa.

“We’re delighted to have Patrick heading our Geneva office” explained Stewart Moore, CEO of EC3 Global and Founder of EarthCheck. “He’s highly respected by the industry and will be an excellent local contact for our regional members as we further extend the company’s reach.”

“EarthCheck has been working in the region for more than 15 years. More recently we established a strategic alliance with t&d tourisme & développement® in 2013 to provide audit services and Big Waves in France to provide training and capacity building services to our clients. The appointment of Patrick will bring a very experienced operator, to a region that is requesting our unique insight and advice.” said Moore

EarthCheck have a growing portfolio of European and Middle Eastern properties which are owned and managed by some of the world’s leading companies including Meliá International, Banyan Tree Holdings; Langham Hotels International; Sofitel and Hyatt.

The program services operators across 30+ sectors and includes hotels, convention centres, spas, casinos, museums and a wide range of communities, precincts and attractions.

“Optimal performance is the aspiration of every business manager, regardless of which country they operate in,” said Mr Renouard. “EarthCheck brings about triple bottom line gains and helps reduce carbon emissions. We have consistently supported our clients to identify and credibly measure and report savings across their portfolios. It’s encouraging to see so many organisations and destinations in the region wanting to take the next step in sustainability recognition.”
