Based on its market research and analysis of the new technology innovations in the APAC region, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Biomax Technologies with the 2013 Asia Pacific Technology Innovation Award for Thermophilic Digestion Technology for Fertilizer Production.
Biomax Technologies, based in Singapore, is a biotechnology firm with significant commitment in Research & Development of enzyme-related technological solutions. Its waste-to-fertilizer technology is an internationally patented system that digests all types of organic wastes and converts them into organic fertilizer within just 24 hours.
In the global scene, the rising substantial amount of organic by-products from the whole food supply chain is worrying for the industrial players as well as for our environment. In many countries, landfills are still used as a major method of waste disposal and this releases greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. Biomax recycles what originates from nature back to the nature – the organic waste that has originated from animals and plants is reused as food for plants after a careful systematic treatment. In order to achieve a 24hour speed, Biomax technology makes use of its proprietary BM1 enzymes that break down wastes under high temperature of 80°C.
Frost & Sullivan’s Technology Innovation of the Year Award is bestowed upon a company that has carried out new research, which has resulted in the development of a specific innovative technology that has or is expected to bring significant contributions to the industry in terms of adoption, change, and competitive posture.
“While, it is not a new practice to produce organic fertiliser from organic waste, the significantly reduced processing time requirement and high waste conversion efficiency puts the Biomax Thermophilic Digestion Technology far ahead of its competitors,” said Mr Abhisek Ghosh, Research Analyst for Technical Insights, Frost & Sullivan.
He continued, “The significantly reduced energy requirements and smaller footprint also make this system appropriate for commercial adoption for organic waste processing on a greater scale. In addition, the robust built of this fully automated system effectively minimises the maintenance efforts and cost.”
Due to the flexibility and customizability of the technology, Biomax technology has been used in various industries across 13 countries so far. The industries include poultry production, slaughterhouses, oil palm plantation, food processing factories and biogas operation.
About Biomax Technologies
Biomax Technologies was founded in 2009 with the aim of innovating technologies that support sustainable business activities. Biomax is specialized in the research and development of enzyme-based solutions for agribusinesses.
After several years of commitment in R&D efforts, Biomax had successfully developed and commercialized the flagship innovation called the Rapid Thermophilic Digestion Technology. This technology converts organic by-products from agriculture and food processing industries into top-quality pathogen-free organic fertilizer within 24 hours. The system shortens the waste processing time to only 24 hours, produces a commercially valuable output and does not create any polluting by-products. With this technology, Biomax provides waste-to-wealth sustainable solutions to its clients around the world.
