GreenBlue’s Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) announced today that 1908 Brands, a Colorado-based brand management company focused on promoting natural and sustainable products, is the newest participant in its How2Recycle Label program.
1908 Brands and its two brand companies, Boulder Clean and Compokeeper, join over 40 member companies in this growing program.
How2Recycle was developed to provide clear, concise on-package recycling information to consumers. Labels are nationally-harmonized, and follow the Federal Trade Commission Green Guides.
“1908 Brands is thrilled to work with How2Recycle and help reduce confusion around recycling,” Steve Savage, Founder and CEO said. “The mission of the How2Recycle program goes hand-in-hand with our company’s efforts to reduce waste and increase awareness in order to make sustainable choices an easy option for our customers. As leaders in corporate responsibility, we are constantly looking for new ways to improve our products and their impact on our planet, and we are proud to partner with How2Recycle to do just that!”
Boulder Clean is an extensive line of natural cleaning and laundry products. Compokeeper is a hands-free, odor-free home composting bin. 1908 Brands plans to use the label on its packaging in the upcoming months.

About 1908 Brands
1908 Brands is a brand management company focused exclusively on promoting natural and sustainable products. We envision a world where consumers no longer have to sacrifice what is good for their home with what is good for their planet. We strive towards a place where an eco-oriented audience is the mainstream, demanding performance in the same way their less-than-eco-friendly predecessors did.
1908 refers to the year in which our Founder and CEO Steve Kent Savage’s family member – William Kent – saved on of the last great Redwood Groves from being sold to lumber interests. He bought all 300 acres and presented the property to Teddy Roosevelt and the US Government as a gift. The land is now known as Muir Woods National Park.
