New sustainability consultancy responds to Australia’s appetite for change

As government and the private sector focus on Australia’s transition to a low-carbon economy, the Photon Group has launched CPR Sustainability, a practice which advises organisations on their environmental and social sustainability programs. It offers businesses the global perspective they need to adapt to the country’s changing sustainability agenda.

The practice is led by Sophie Hughes, a regional ambassador for Al Gore’s Climate Project, who has extensive international sustainability experience in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. She has been central to the development of best practice strategies for clients from global corporations to international governments including, Marks & Spencer, McCain Foods, AT&T, United Nations Foundation and the Abu Dhabi Environment Agency.

“As the highest CO2 emitter per capita in the world, it is time for Australian businesses to commit to and develop sustainability strategies which ensure their long-term competiveness in the global marketplace,” Ms Hughes said.

“Through its unique range of services and access to international insight, CPR Sustainability can help businesses navigate the complex issue of corporate sustainability and move beyond mere compliance and token environmental efforts.”

Matt Melhuish, Head of Australian Agencies for the Photon Group, said, “CPR Sustainability recognises the future needs of clients across the Photon Group. We are excited by the opportunity to leverage the expertise of CPR Sustainability across a number of our market-leading agencies.”

Offering a mix of business consultancy and communications advice, CPR Sustainability advises on community, environment, marketplace and workplace issues and initiatives as well as building holistic corporate responsibility programs.
