Star Motor Carnival gives visitors opportunity to test the Mitsubishi i-MiEV

The first electric car to be registered for our roads, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV, will be available for test drive at the Star Motor Carnival from September 14 to 17 at Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.

The four-seater i-MiEV has a top speed of 130kph and can travel up to 150km on a full charge.

“We want to create awareness that electric cars can offer driving smoothness and performance that is better than petrol-powered cars,” said Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia senior head of Project and COO Office, Hoffen Teh while giving a demonstration of the car here yesterday.

The car’s lithium ion battery can be fully charged in eight hours using an ordinary house wall plug point.

In addition to the i-MiEV, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia will also be displaying its range of Lancer and ASX passenger cars, Triton VGT pick-up trucks, Pajero V6 and Pajero Sport VGT sports utility vehicles at the carnival.

Besides Mitsubishi, other marques exhibiting include Honda, Mazda, Ford and Chinese brand ZX Auto.

Also taking part in the carnival are Citibank, Kuwait Finance House,Quantum Success Holdings, Jsky Season Service, D & D Performance, MG Dynamic, PZ Lubricant, YTL YES 4G, JT NGV Holdings and Auto Discounts.

The carnival is jointly organised by The Star and Cityneon Malaysia, and supported by Star Rev and its online companion star-motoring.com, which comes under the Star Media Group.
