TSB to deliver MESAT competition results in November

This November the Technology Strategy Board will deliver the second Marine Energy Supporting Array Technology (MESAT) dissemination event at the annual International Tidal Energy Summit on the 25th November in London.

Developed in collaboration with Scottish Enterprise and the Natural Environment Research Council, the TSB launched the MESAT project to encourage innovation that can address the common challenges of the marine energy industry. This include demonstrating that wave and tidal stream technologies can generate energy on a relatively large scale and to ultimately reduce the cost of the energy produced.

With a focus on a range of technologies including the standardisation of electrical architecture, development of a platform for tidal array deployment and sub-sea electrical hubs, the MESAT project is an important milestone in the progression of the tidal energy industry.

This, the second MESAT dissemination event, will present the progress of the projects after the first year and will industry to come together to share in the learning from this key industrial research.
