Asian Consumers need more affordable access to healthy and sustainable living

Unsustainable lifestyles in Asia are a concern for everyone; it counts 20 of the most polluted cities in the world, of which 13 are in India. Yet, air pollution wasn’t an issue in recent Indian elections. Ten river systems carry 90 per cent of the plastic that ends up in the ocean – and 8 of these are in Asia.

However, banning plastic shopping bags invokes resistance among many shoppers. Citizens acknowledge we have an environmental crisis, but why then do most consumers not act on this issue? What can we do to help changing this?

In this blog post, we preview some results of GlobeScan’s Healthy and Sustainable Living Survey among 25,000 consumers, including the opinions of 7,000 people in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, and South Korea.
