Pan-Asian Energy Infrastructure: Outlook 2011

Grenatec’s “Pan-Asian Energy Infrastructure 2011,” explains in detail how a Pan-Asian Energy Infrastructure could be built.

The 230-page study provides timelines, topologies and an analysis of Asia’s low-emission energy resources and how they could be developed.

The report concludes that a ‘bundled’ infrastructure of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) power lines, natural gas pipelines and fiber optic cables could feasibly stretch from China to Australia by 2050.

Grenatec illustrates how such a system could grow organically by progressively-interconnecting  energy and data transmission infrastructure already being built in Asia.

The Executive Summary is available free.

The “Pan-Asian Energy Infrastructure” series is yearly. It will be updated in 2012.
