Broecker set up the Switzerland-headquartered company’s Hong Kong office in 2019. He will remain in Hong Kong until April 2022, then move to Germany to take on the newly created global role.
The role will involve working with country teams to lead the froup’s efforts towards more sustainable operations, products and services.
In a statement, Broecker said that his company’s mission is to support clients to “envision and create a sustainable future.”
“We know that digital and data are key capabilities for this. The analysis and aggregation of ESG [environmental, social and governance] data is a crucial enabler for sustainable finance. And smart grids that can handle the flow of renewable energy also depend on highly scalable and reliable data platforms,” he said.
Broecker has worked for Zühlke, which offers services including product development, digital transformation, data analytics, and virtual reality, for most of his career, joining the firm in 2003. He started his career as a computing consultant in 2000.
