Taiwan promotes innovation, value in agriculture

Taiwan is committed to building a vibrant and highly competitive agriculture industry by enhancing cross-field integration and value chain innovation to overcome challenges stemming from economic liberalization, according to the Council of Agriculture Feb. 3.

The COA remarks follow a protest in Taipei City earlier in the day demanding food sovereignty and a review of ROC government agricultural policies.

“Food sovereignty asserts that people have right to produce food in a sustainable way on their land,” a COA official said. “It is in line with government policies ensuring food security.”
