The Middle East’s missing corporate carbon agenda

Companies in the Middle East are behind the rest of the world in terms of emissions reporting. This as the region’s actions against greenhouse gases face global scrutiny amid Doha’s hosting of the UN climate talks. Data shows that only five out of more than 2,000 publicly traded companies in the Middle East reported their carbon output in 2011. International Energy Agency chief economst Fatih Birol said climate change is definitely not in policy agendas in the region and that the Middle East needs to do more.
