The Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) and the Embassy of Poland in Vietnam co-organized a forum on environmental protection here on Monday.
Participants to the forum focused on plans on management of the waste, including water waste, renewable energy in Vietnam, and made suggestions to improve Vietnam’s Law on the Environment 2005 to reduce negative impacts from social and economic development on the environment.
Vietnam is trying its utmost to build a green economy by attracting technologies friendly to the environment and saving energy. One of the biggest challenges to the country is to handle the environmental pollution, said MNRE Deputy Minister Bui Cach Tuyen, adding that the forum will provide opportunities for Polish companies to invest in this area in Vietnam.
Polish Deputy Minister of Environment Beata Jaczewska affirmed that Poland is ready to share experience and transfer state-of-the- art technologies to Vietnam, which are available in Poland and have been applied to, and obtained effectiveness in environmental management, including management of the waste, processing and collecting waste harmful to the environment, and urban and rural water waste treatment.
Collaborative projects in environmental protection especially green technologies cooperation between the two countries will have positive impacts on bilateral ties.
According to MNRE, in recent years, many Polish companies have visited Vietnam to seek opportunities for green technology transfer, and the first Vietnam-Poland joint venture in this area has already been established.
The forum was held on the occasion of Beata Jaczewska’s official visit to Vietnam from October 8-9 to boost bilateral ties in environmental protection.
