The International GreenTech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM) 2015, the region’s largest green technology and eco-products exhibition, is on track for another spectacular showing this year.
Organised by the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA), and co-organised by Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (GreenTech Malaysia), the sixth show is scheduled to be held from September 9 – 12, 2015 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, and features a showcase of the latest green technology, eco-products and services as well as avenues to explore trade, investment, collaboration and technology transfer opportunities.
Earlier today, six leading companies in the green technology sector participated in a signing ceremony at the IGEM booth at EPRE 2015 to commemorate their participation in IGEM 2015. The event was witnessed by YB Dato’ Seri DiRaja Mahdzir Bin Khalid, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Green Technology and Water; Dato’ Ir. Hj. Azman bin Mohd, President/ CEO, Tenaga Nasional Berhad; Ir. Ahmad Hadri Haris, Chief Executive Officer, GreenTech Malaysia; and Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin, Chairman, Malaysian Exhibition Services.
The signatories were En Zulkifli Abdullah, Senior General Manager, SIRIM BERHAD; Ms Juliwar Idrus, Officer, Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB); Cik Siti Nor Azura Dahalan, Key Account Manager, Sales & Marketing, Hanwha Q CELLS Malaysia Sdn Bhd; Mr Melvin Chuah, Director, Amtech Power Sdn Bhd; and En. Syed Eisa Syed Ahmad, General Manager, Malaysian Solar Resources Sdn Bhd.
“From the very beginning, the IGEM series was positioned to take the lead and gather industry players and professionals from the public and private sectors, to explore and grasp the opportunities present in the green market. It has successfully developed into a premier platform for industry stalwarts to discuss, deliberate and discover emerging opportunities,” said Ir. Ahmad Hadri Haris during the signing ceremony at the ongoing Electric, Power and Renewable Energy (EPRE) Malaysia 2015 exhibition.
Approximately 400 local and international exhibitors in the green sector are set to showcase their latest innovations and services across the fields of energy, transportation, property development, waste management and water management at IGEM 2015. This includes country pavilions from Germany, Netherlands, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and Singapore.
“In addition to providing a platform to showcase the latest innovations and technologies in the green sector, IGEM 2015 also serves as a crucial business matching and revenue generation platform. Throughout the four-day show, industry members, delegates and exhibitors will be able to meet, mingle and exchange ideas as well as establish domestic and international partnerships,” said Mr Alun Jones, General Manager of Malaysian Exhibition Services – Malaysia’s largest exhibition organiser, who is the Official Strategic Partner for IGEM 2015.
Since its inception in 2010, IGEM has recorded approximately RM6 billion in business leads, with the highest amount generated in a single show being RM2 billion generated at IGEM 2014.
Themed “Powering the Green Economy”, IGEM 2015 will focus on elevating the country’s green economy and business, revolving around the five key pillars of Green Energy, Green Transport, Green Building, Solid Waste Technology & Management, and Clean Water Technology & Management.
Among the highlights of IGEM 2015 are the Green Insights workshops and seminars, MATRADE international business matching, one-to-one BizMatch programme, International Buyer Programme, and MIDA’s Business Consultation.
