Nano Solar Reflective Paint sales soar beyond 10,000sqm in August in Thailand

An increasing number of building owners turn to high performance green materials for their building insulation needs, even in purchasing cost-focused markets like Thailand.

Planet Supra, a Japanese nanotechnology solar and heat-reflective paint, is generating increasing interest thanks to consistently best performance in reducing building heat-load and air-conditioning electricity consumption.

Metal sheet roofs have been measured to be up to 33°C cooler (7-Eleven store in Bangkok) and air-conditioning kWh consumption to drop by up to 49% (cement fiber tile roof prefabricated office in Bangkok).

Despite being more expensive to buy than competing thermal coatings, it provides more than 25% additional performance and benefits, which make for a faster return on investment.

Launched in Thailand in January 2009, Planet Supra’s monthly sales have passed the 10,000sqm bar in August, for the first time. Metal sheet roofs and also stainless steel pipes are being painted and insulated from solar radiation. Choice factors include industry-leading performance, easy on-site application and carbon offset certification.

Main projects being implemented this month:

  • Salamander Jewelry: 3,800sqm, 2 factory buildings, 1 office building, metal sheet and concrete roofs
  • Benchmark Electronics: 4,100sqm, several buildings, metal sheet roofs
  • Rayong-Intania: 2,150sqm, stainless steel pipes
