The government is planning to build several new small and medium LNG receiving terminals in several provinces to strengthen energy supply across the country, an official told reporters in Jakarta on Thursday.
“The medium terminal may need less than S$ 200 million in investment, and less than $100 million for the small ones,” Kardaya Warnika, an expert staff for the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry said.
Kardaya said he was optimistic that the small-medium LNG receiving terminals will get raw materials easily because some new blocks like Masella in East Nusa Tenggara and Donggi-Senoro in Sulawesi were slated to produce gas.
Kardaya refused to mention the number of small and medium receiving terminals will be constructed, saying that the ministry was still conducting some studies over the plan.
