US gets a taste of its own anti-dumping probe

India has launched an anti-dumping investigation against photovoltaic cells from the US. The US has recently begun a similar probe into Chinese solar cell manufacturers. Apart from the US solar manufacturers, India will also be investigating exports from China, Malaysia, and Taiwan. India-based photovoltaic makers like Indosolar Ltd., Jupiter Solar Power Ltd., and Websol Energy Systems Ltd., filed the anti-dumping charges. John Smirnow of the Solar Energy Industries Association said the filing of anti-dumping cases usually happens when there is a global overcapaciy for solar modules.
