Patrick Nease is the Monitoring and Evaluation Intern for Global Forest Watch. He helps manage the Small Grants Fund that seeks to promote uptake of Global Forest Watch by civil society actors such as journalists and non-profits to use in their research, advocacy, and fieldwork. He supports the storytelling efforts of Global Forest Watch with various multimedia.
Patrick joined WRI from Conservation International, where he worked as a communications associate. He was engaged in implementing a mobile data collection platform for a water, sanitation, and health project in South Africa’s Eastern Cape.
Patrick holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from University of Vermont. He also studied Motion Pictures and Marine Science at University of Miami, and lived aboard a 134-foot tall ship with Sea Education Association in French Polynesia.
During the winter, Patrick is an avid snowboarder. You can find him trail running, hanging out by a lake, or enjoying live music when the sun is out.
