Waste management strategies and technologies are currently undergoing rapid development.
The Sardinia Symposia were established in order to make knowledge and experiences in this field readily available and have rapidly have become the Reference Forum, where the leading experts meet and present their research activities and experiences and discuss new concepts and technologies. The Symposia have witnessed and contributed worldwide to the development of modern waste management strategies such as the integrated waste management hierarchy, recovery of energy and sustainable landfilling.
The thirtheenth Symposium was held in October 2011 in the traditional venue of the Forte Village Complex at S. Margherita di Pula (Cagliari), with an attendance of nearly 800 delegates from 63 different countries, among which Australia, China, Japan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand and many others APAC countries.
The 14th edition of the Symposium, coordinated among others by Fukuoka University (JP) and Tongji University (CN), will focus on innovative aspects of Waste Management, presenting new technologies, describing the state of the art and related case studies, discussing the main controversial subjects, sharing experiences among different countries, valuating social and economical balances.
The Symposium will include oral presentations, poster sessions, specialized sessions and specific Workshops.
Before the start of the Symposium, training courses will be offered by IWWG - International Waste Working Group.
Organizations, Associations and Companies are traditionally welcome to have their internal meetings during the event, with the support of the Symposium Organization.
