Fenton, who was vice president of Asia sustainability finance at WWF, moves into a new role as senior programme manager at IIGCC.
His job will involve supporting the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative, which aims to galvanise support from asset managers towards achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 or sooner.
IIGCC is a European membership body working with investors towards the transition to net-zero in support of the Paris Agreement on climate change.
Before joining WWF in 2020, Fenton was climate governance manager for C40 Cities, a network of cities working to confront the climate crisis.
He has also worked for the government of Fiji, as a national advisor for the Pacific island’s climate adaptation plan, and as a consultant in various organisations, including Oxfam in Ethiopia, poverty alleviation charity CARE in Ghana, and research group International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) in London.
