Asia finance sector must change with climate change

The financial sector of Asia must adapt to meet challenges ahead. This was the advice of Asian Development Bank vice-president Bindu Lohani to the region in a speech at the Asia Finance Forum. He said the finance sector must learn to grab opportunities in five future mega-trends— global economic rebalancing, urbanisation, infrastructure, climate change and demographics. According to Lohani, resource problems and higher demand for efficient energy brought about by climate change will require different policies from commercial banks and Asian banks must be prepared for this demand.
