Asian clean-tech firms outdid their European counterparts last year in terms of revenues, led by massive renewable energy investments from China, said Ernst & Young. Earnings of Asian clean-tech companies jumped 20 per cent to $56 billion in 2011. European clean technology firms, on the other hand, fell 32 per cent to $49.5 billion. Ernst & Young said the Chinese firms have clearly set out on a goal to top the clean-tech market and their strategy is focused on sales even if the profit margins are slim.
