Australia’s wave energy project fishing for local contractors

The designs for bioWAVE Pilot Demonstration Project off the coast of Victoria have been completed and its manufacturer is on the lookout to hire local contractors to commence its tests over the next few months. Australian wave and tidal energy developer, BioPower Systems says it is keen on hiring local businesses and people for the renewables project. The bioWAVE project, financed with a $5.6 million from the renewables program of the Victorian Government, is nearing its construction phase. Following this pilot project, BioPower Systems is planning to manufacture a wave energy generator onshore in 2013.
