China’s wind energy investments heads down under

Chinese turbine maker Goldwind is planning to buy a wind farm in Australia as it targets overseas markets. Goldwind, in a tie-up with Chinese power firm China Three Gorges New Energy Corporation, will be bidding for the 157-turbine wind farm owned by Origin Energy in Victoria, Australia, said industry sources. According to a report, the sale of the facility is estimated to be worth A$900m ($926m). General Electric and Repower are also expecting to bid for the wind farm.
