Chinese solar firms rallied on NY bourse following S&P’s positive outlook

Solar firms led the strong performance of Chinese equities at the New York bourse following Standard & Poor’s very positive outlook on the Asian giant’s growth prospects. LDK Solar’s shares jumped 10 per cent to $1.18, its strongest close in two months. Share prices of Yingli Green Energy rose 6.2 per cent to $1.72, while Suntech Power Holdings Ltd. shares rallied to $0.91. LDK Solar Co. is the world’s second-largest maker of wafers while Suntech is the world’s largest solar panel maker. Yingli currently ranks as China’s fourth largest solar panel producer.
