Developing countries have resisted moves at the Doha climate negotiations to include the agriculture sector within the ambit of the emissions reduction targets. India, which is traditionally dependent on agriculture, said the focus for developing nations like them should be on climate change adaptation. Setting caps on agricultural emissions, they said, would affect food security for many poor countries. India has excluded agriculture emissions from its emissions targets.
