A new battery car charger that promises to give a full-charge in only 1.5 hours is being tested by car manufacturer Volvo. If successful, the car company could address the chief complaint of EV users that a day’s worth of use of the electric car requires 6 to 8 hours of charging.
Volvo’s fast-charging rig will be installed and evaluated in their C30 electric cars soon. The new 22-kilowatt fast-charger is the world’s first charger operating on a three-phase supply and is compact enough to fit in the car.
